If you have a great article idea that you've already written about, try looking at the subject from a different angle, and without copying and pasting anything, write a new, original article about your topic. Welcome to the ScribeSeeker.com beta!
Writers, get excited, because for the duration of the beta test (through the end of 2009), authors will share NINETY (90%) PERCENT of ad impressions to earn commission on their articles. In 2010, the earnings keep going with a whopping 75% ad share for all authors, all of the time. Want to know more about how you can make money writing on ScribeSeeker.com? Read below ("How to make Money on ScribeSeeker") about how to register your AdSense ID and how to best promote your articles. If you do not want to or neglect to register your AdSense ID correctly on ScribeSeeker, you will not earn any commissions on your ads. This is okay by us, but if you're wanting to earn some money, make sure you input your AdSense ID!
What we aren't
ScribeSeeker.com is not the fanciest article directory. It's not packed with features that don't do anything but complicate the writing experience. Submitting articles is simple, you're not required to use any funny templates, and all we ask it that you write your very best writing. In return, we'll give you a great venue for earning passive income on your articles. The more you write, the more potential you have to earn.
Who we are
"We" are one person. My name is Eileen and I own and operate ScribeSeeker.com. I am a freelance writer, stay at home mom, and novice web developer. I wanted to create this site because I was tired of making pennies at other sites that "share" their ad revenue. I wanted to give other authors an opportunity to earn what their writing was worth. Finally, I wanted to make a community where authors and web developers could sync up and work with each other. (Our "mail" system is not self contained. Your email address is protected, however messages will be sent directly to your email box, and if you reply, your contact will then have your email address.) I did this so that there was no middle man. I don't want a cut of your personal sales. The percentage ScribeSeeker makes pays for my hosting, business expenses and a pinch for my time. Keeping in mind that I'm just one person, please be patient when you contact me - I'll try to respond within 24 hours whenever possible.
Your responsibilities
You, as an author, are responsible for writing quality content. We do not want article software-generated junk, we do not want the same article rehashed twelve different ways. We don't want articles written in a non-English language and squeezed through a bad translation program. Articles should be 300-600 (or more) words and your work must be original. If you quote other folks' work or if you use images, you MUST cite your source, and in the case of images, you must ensure they have Creative Commons rights that allow you to do so. Plagiarism is the kiss of death here on ScribeSeeker. Don't be that guy/gal. Every author will have their first 10 articles proofread and evaluated before they are published. This should be a fairly quick turnaround (within 24-hours, in most cases). Articles that don't meet with the basic rules of good writing (or have any other obvious issues) will be rejected, and you will be notified. Once an author has shown that he or she knows their stuff, permission will be added to allow self-publication. But don't get sneaky - I've got my eye on you!
NOTE: Please keep a copy of ALL of your articles saved on your computer and/or backed up somewhere. We can not be held responsible if the Internet goes kerplooey and your articles get vaporized. Save, save, save!

Publishing your articles on ScribeSeeker.com can be very profitable. Because ScribeSeeker holds their authors in such high esteem, making money with their great ad sharing revenue program can really result in high returns. Articles don't sell themselves, however, but with a little effort, you can really increase traffic to your articles. Here are five steps to maximizing your success with your ScribeSeeker articles.
The first thing to do is register for two accounts: one with Scribeseeker.com and one with Google AdSense. Both are free. Once you've got your Google AdSense publishing ID (pub-XXXXXXXXXXXX), you can visit your profile on ScribeSeeker.com, and in the Edit>Update Your Profile page, you can click Google Ads and input your publisher ID. If you add a channel name, this will be how you will track your impressions and earnings via the AdSense reports.
Next, write some articles! The more articles you write, the more likely you'll appeal to a broader audience, which in itself increases your potential traffic. Remember, every article you write will keep earning month after month when visitors click your ads, so as your article portfolio increases, so will your passive income! Keep articles at 300-600 words to keep your audience's attention, and to ensure your article gets indexed by the search engines (shorter articles may be overlooked by search bots). When you finish writing your article, try using the Linkr button to link your story to others on ScribeSeeker. The more interwoven the site is, the longer visitors will browse our articles!
Once your article is published and live on the site, make sure to use social bookmarking sites, Twitter, Facebook and Myspace (and others!) to get the word out. Digg is probably one of the best social bookmarking sites to use because of its popularity, and there is some suggestion that "Digging" an article will cause Google to crawl the site sooner. You can use the "Share" button at the bottom of any article page to get the word out on a bunch of different social bookmarking sites
Add your user profile URL to your signature in emails, online forums and Twitter accounts. Invite your friends to read your articles and perhaps even to write on ScribeSeeker - linking to each other's related articles with Linkr with improve traffic for both of you!
Comment! Read your peers' articles, particularly in your area of interest. Comment, respond and get some dialog going. When we work together as a community to support each other's writing, our family will grow and our content will just get better and better.
